Some befores and afters

Here are just a few pictures of some of the kids who grew up during my time in the DR:

Ruben, Tito and Popito at the beach with Constance, Phillip, Jennie and some of the kids

A few days before I left I got this picture of the Tamarindo kids. Popito is in the green on the left, Ruben is in the middle with a dark shirt with a light stripe sitting next to Tito in the green, yellow and blue shirt.

Sometime during our first semester with the school open I got this one of Franchesca eating a boiled egg during lunch.

I got to take her to the beach just before I left. Look at how big she got! She's so much taller and has lost her chubby cheeks! Her funny personality continually made me laugh! She is so smart (she can read!) and very observant. She was willing to help Ashley whenever she could. Oh how I miss this precious little Franny Fran Fran!

Look at how preciously small Ambiolix is!! He's grown up (though, to be honest, he's not too much taller). He is quite the jokester and loves to play in Chichigua with his neighbor and best friend Memo.

Our first day of school!!! Fransisco (lovingly called Franchicho), Ambiolix, Estiven, and Memo praying with Profe Katy!

Wilner! When I first met him, I only thought of him as a funny looking kid who was scared of gringos, baha!

And then he grew up into a bratty, mean and cute little kid! As much as he would annoy me, I just adore him and his smile!

Bernito! Do you see all the fungus on his head? Poor little B! In this picture he looks exactly like his little brother who is now this age.

He grew up to be one of the smartest and funniest kids in Ashley's class!

Marta la Loca (Marta Morena, Saco de Papas) on one of her first days at school. She charmed us with her giggle, sweet smile, and bossy attitude!

The beginning of her 3rd year at our school. She's so grown up and a bit more lady-like!

Little Lonni! The day I met him Connie Con Con was bandaging up a hole on his leg.

Ronal! He was my first friend in Chichigua and my first Creole teacher!

About a month before I left. Oh my sweet boys, how I miss y'all!!
