Sancocho

Today for the first time our Doña Cristina made sancocho! It's a kind of soup/stew with yautilla (a root crop which is grown and eaten like potatoes), ahuyama (a very large pumpkin-like squash with orange flesh that is moister and sweeter than pumpkin), zanahoria (carrots), cilantro (same in English), yuca (also called cassava), plátano (plantain), pollo (chicken) and it is delicious!

Doesn't it look yummy?!
